100 Days

February 14th, 2020 Valentine's Day- Love Yo'self.
I began an art challenge this year where I have commited to make 100 pieces of art over 100 days. The purpose is to nurture and grow my own creative practice through a dedicated commitment to creating everyday. Even if it is only a small miniature 10cm x 10cm work.

Through my graduate research in creativity, I learned a lot about the methods which can be employed to build creativite capacity. Creativity is a skill which can be developed. An essential part of this is sustained regular practice and experimentation.

I invited other artist to join me for this journey in hopes we could support and hold each other accountable. I wanted to host a challenge for others, but I was also committed to the project regardless if others joined or not. The call and parameters were simple:

1. Journey together to create art every day for 100 days.
2. Keep it small
3. Show, Share & Tell

Boost your creativity and grow within your creative practice. Love Yo’self and join your online artist friends in creating 100 pieces of miniature art in 100 days. Sketchbook, canvas, notebook, sculptures - anything goes and it is entirely your choice. Each day share your work online in stories or posts and share the work of others creating alongside you in this challenge if you like. This is a supportive collaborative community of artists. We can hold the hands of each other by using the hashtag #100daysofloveyoself, tag the participating artists, highlight each other in stories and repost the great work.

You will build stamina and resilience in your creative practice as we collectively build our creative capacity together.

Artist are welcome to begin their 100 days as it suits them. My 100 days ends on May 24th, 2020. Works created through this project can be viewed on my instagram.
