Hello, I'm Shannon Amey, a professional artist and mentor passionate about nurturing creativity and supporting artists. My journey in the art world began with formal training at OCAD University (Ontario College of Art & Design University) in Toronto. I expanded my horizons by earning degrees in leadership and teaching from the University of New Brunswick and a graduate degree in Creativity from the University of Calgary.

Creating art is where I truly feel at home. It connects me to my most authentic self, blending energy and tranquility. The canvas becomes a portal to my inner world, where boundaries disappear and creativity flows freely.

Travel has significantly influenced my artistic journey. Meeting diverse people and experiencing different places profoundly impacts my work. I translate these memories into abstract expressions, infusing each piece with the essence of my adventures.

As a child, I was always the "art kid," knowing from an early age that a creative life was my destiny. The path to becoming a full-time artist took me on a winding road, but I'm grateful every day for having found my place in this magnificent creative life.

I'm passionate about making art daily and find immense joy in mentoring other artists on their creative journeys. My experience as an art teacher ignited a deep-seated desire to work with aspiring artists. Transitioning into a full-time artist has been simultaneously thrilling, nerve-wracking, and incredibly fulfilling. I consider myself fortunate to live this creative life, where I create art and guide and support other artists on their unique journeys.

My work is part of numerous collections and exhibitions, reflecting the appreciation and recognition of my artistic contributions.

In addition to my artistic practice, I focus on mentorship, helping emerging and mid-career artists launch, grow, expand, and thrive in their art businesses. Through my mentorship programs, I provide personalized guidance, comprehensive resources, and a supportive community, enabling artists to unlock their full potential and achieve their goals.
